Hello, I’m Helen, a Cotswolds Photographer, and I originally come from Northamptonshire where I grew up on a smallholding. I had a busy outdoor upbringing and so I’m a country girl at heart. I now live in Cirencester, the capital of the Cotswolds, with my husband and two boys.
Having ridden since I was a teenager, I have always loved horses. I am a qualified British Horse Society Assistant Instructor. And now the second arm of my business, is Horse Photography. I’m also super lucky that in my spare time, I ride a gorgeous horse called Bentley, who I share with a lovely friend.
My first career was as a primary school teacher and Key Stage One Manager and I have taught overseas and in the UK for 13 years.
I have always had an eye for a photograph and enjoyed taking natural images of country life at home and whilst travelling. After having my babies, I decided to ‘bite the bullet’ and turn a much loved hobby into a business. Over the years, I have found that my extensive equestrian and teaching background has been invaluable.
My love of the countryside and the natural world has enabled me to have a vast collection of country life images. This helped me raise money for a local special school by decorating a 6 foot hare with my wildlife photos printed onto tissue paper. And yes, it took forever!
There’s a well known quote; “Choose a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life”. This says it all for me and I’m truly lucky be a photographer. And because of this, I am a committed and passionate professional. I’m good at what I do because I love it. And I love it, because I believe in it.
Every shoot is different and so my photographs for each client are completely unique. My photography style is natural and authentic, sensitive and empathic.
Clients say I put them at ease and that this, in turn, helps them to relax. Which means you can really enjoy your shoot whilst I’m busy compiling a gorgeous collection of truthful and genuine images.
