"A lot of care was taken in achieving what appears to be a spontaneous-looking portrait. In the initial stages of the shoot a relationship was created with both dogs, identifying their traits and how these would be best portrayed.

Helen has an inordinate amount of patience showing tolerance and complete unflappability as dogs can be so unpredictable. Time and effort was spent seeking out the best locations. Both dogs’ characteristics and idiosyncrasies were captured completely, in a naturally creative and imaginative way.

There was an air of complete professionalism during the whole project. Her photographs were excellent and beautifully presented in gorgeous frames.

Helen’s obvious passion for her job, her love and knowledge of her subject matter and skill is conveyed through her work and if considering commissioning a portrait of your dog then we would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her and are in no doubt that you will be delighted with the result."

“Helen takes fantastic dog photographs!

We have four dogs with unique personalities and we wanted photographs taken which reflected these. We discussed when would be best to do this and decided on their normal morning walk would be the most natural time. This entailed Helen being with us for 6am! She arrived early and full of enthusiasm. Helen asked specific questions beforehand so she gained important information of how each dog would behave…or not!

This made the whole experience run smoothly and all dogs and people were relaxed, and of course we couldn’t have asked for better photographs.  They were exactly what we wanted and would not hesitate in recommending Helen to anyone who wanted professional dog photographs.”

My Approach:

I love dogs.

And your dog will have found itself a place in your heart. They’re part of the family after all.

As a photographer, the art of detailed observation, is a technique that I use to create meaningful images, that show your dog’s character and quirks.

My dog photo shoots are deliberately kept natural and spontaneous. I like to work intuitively so that
each capture will be utterly unique to that animal.

I meet dog owners at home or local park locations. Places that offer fabulous spaces, that are perfect for dog photography.

Getting down to your dog’s eye level is an approach that I use throughout my shoots. It has become an essential part of my photographic style and means I spend a lot of time on the ground!  It helps me to gain trust, an essential element to creating a bond with your dog. This enables me to capture the essence of your dog in my photos.

My shoots are anything but typical and subject to the behaviour of the animals and the vagaries of the weather and seasons. And above all, loads of fun!

If you would like a collection of professional images of your dog, my stress-free photo shoots are perfect for you.
